Participles and usage · Μετοχές και χρήση

  • Forms with έχω describe completed events; είμαι + an agreeing participle describes a state. They are not interchangeable in every context. Dependent forms used with έχω are not standalone infinitives.
  • The perfective forms μπω, μπεις, μπει, μπουν are monosyllables and take no accent. μπούμε and μπείτε have two syllables and keep their accent.
  • μπασμένος is used in particular expressions; it is not a general substitute for έχω μπει.

Μπες μέσα.

Come in.

Έχω μπει στο κτίριο.

I have entered the building.
