Modern Greek verb conjugation
αξίζω · to be worth; to deserve
Αξίζει τον κόπο. — It is worth the effort. Σου αξίζει μια ευκαιρία. — You deserve a chance.
A verb with a limited tense system: In standard everyday use, αξίζω uses present-stem forms and the imperfect. Do not invent an aorist or perfect by analogy with other -ίζω verbs. For a completed past situation, άξιζε can still be the natural form: Το ταξίδι άξιζε τον κόπο — The trip was worth it.
